Arnie Greenberg
...is a retired professor who lives in Montreal, Canada. He has degrees and/or diplomas from MacDonald College, Concordia University and McGill University in Montreal. He has been writing for a number of travel journals for many years and has also worked as a television writer for Canadian young people on the CBC. After a 37 year teaching career (mostly at VANIER COLLEGE) he ran a successful tour company (Ultimate Tours) for 15 years. Now, in his retirement, he will offer his help to people about his personal suggestions.
Arnie's teaching of world history involved lectures on 'Paris in the Twenties' and the lives of the expatriates who lived and worked there during this era of 'flowering'. His focus began with American writer Gertrude Stein and her long list of friends including Hemingway, Picasso and the would-be writers of that era. The group was referred to as "Everybody who was anybody". Gertrude loved Paris and Arnie looks at the city through her eyes. Paris and France is his specialty.
He has written two plays about the period, GODDY:A PLAY about Gertrude and Hemingway, set during the baptismal party of Hemingway's eldest son, John. Gertrude was the boy's godmother, hence the cryptic title. He also wrote PABLO:THE MAN WHO PAINTED HELL which examines Picasso in conversation and lends light to his art, his hopes and fears.
His television credits include the inter-school competition REACH FOR THE TOP which he worked on for 22 years and acted as chief adjudicator. He also wrote a pre-teen show that was a child's version of Laugh In, called Hobbledehoy seen across Canada for 9 years..
Two of his recent novels are available on the web with no charge at www.postcardsforyou.com Look for 'Double Deception' and 'A Man of Taste'.
Double Deception is about the pasinting of Gertrude Stin by Picasso. Is the original in the Met. in New York, or not?
A Man of Taste aims to discover a missing De Vinci painting in France but comes up with an amazing discovery.
Many of his travel-related articles appear on www.postcardsforyou.com as well as www.Travel-watch.com and www.Bonjourparis.com and www.jewishtraveling.com
Over the past twenty years Arnie has combined his European lecturing in France, Germany and Italy with leading tour groups to such places as France, Spain, Italy, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Austria, Russia, Greece (and the islands), Turkey, China, Thailand, Bali, Singapore and Sicily. But he has visited other countries too such as England, Scotland and Wales and various places in Mexico, the Caribbean, and especially Grand Cayman Island. Of course he has traveled widely in The United States and Canada, from coast to coast.
Arnie considers himself retired but will devote his time to writing, personal travel.
